Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Who should suffer more?

So Padres fans  hate two franchises more than any other right?  The Dodgers and the Cubs.

Since those teams are playing each other, who do you root for to make it to the next stage to get eliminated by the Phillies/Brewers?

On one hand, it'd hurt a lot to make it to the playoffs only to get eliminated right away.  On the other hand, it's gotta sting to be one series away from the World Series and not make it.  Of course, Padres fans must root for that fate for both the Dodgers and the Cubs, but who should get which fate?

This FanPost was written by a member of the Gaslamp Ball community and does not necessarily reflect the views of the Gaslamp Ball managers or SB Nation.

THE MARINERS!!!!!!!

I hate the Mariners more than any franchise in history. They are our mortal enemies.

Seriously...

Plus, In addtion to the Mariners, I also hate the Giants, and to a lesser degree, the diamondbacks.

I just hate cubs fans… which is different.

Smooth Jazz is gonna be so "mad" at you.

Sadly, I agree. Things need to go back to normal out here.

This is the 20th anniversary of the Dodgers

not winning a playoff series. Celebrate.

I have to choose the Dodgers in this situation

Because the earlier the Cubs are eliminated, the earlier the media can shut the hell up about this being their year.

If you can't learn to do something well, learn to enjoy doing it poorly

I just want to see

Crying fans.

Bonus points for Phillies fans, but they’re more likely to get angry before they get weepy.
Icing if it’s Cubs fans in game 6 or 7 of the NLCS, after Kerry Wood pulls a Brad Lidge and gives up a jack to like, Prince Fielder.
Red Socks fans are old hat, but would still be fun to see again.
Rays fans are likely to be big weepers, since this is CINDERELLA’S YEAR.

I don’t really expect much from Brewers, Angels, Dodgers or White Sox fans.

Either way, I don’t care whose fans, but as long as they’re shedding tears, I’m happy. I have to admit, their nationally-televised, public misery is kind of a turn-on.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

I want the Cubs to lose first!

As Boilermaker19 says it might shut up the media plus I don’t want to hear how they came close or they’re getting closer each year.
PLUS I want Joe Torre to stick in there a little longer to stick it to the Yankee organization who completely and utterly, totally dissed him in their big ceremony closing their park.

Thank goodness that's over!

Why do we hate them?

Quite embarassing, but I don’t know why I’m supposed to hate those 2 teams (I have an excuse that Israel is quite far away). Please help me know…
:-)

by itay n. on Oct 1, 2008 10:30 AM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Free pass (maybe) on the Cubs thing...

But to not get the Dodger part…even in Israel…is unforgivable.

by Drama on Oct 1, 2008 10:49 AM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Indeed

over here in Belgium I always talk to people with Dodgershats how much the Dodgers suck. Rarely do they have any clue what I’m talking about.

by sixpakfrombelgium on Oct 2, 2008 5:34 AM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

So let me know about the Cubs

..and I’ll watch reruns of this season as punishment for the Dodgers thing

by itay n. on Oct 1, 2008 11:15 AM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The media forces the Cubs down our throats which causes a lot of people to resent them. Because they haven’t won a World Series in 99 years, it’s apparently DESTINY for them to win it this season.

Plus, their fans are horrible, rotten people who take over ballparks, drink, fight, be unruly, unsightful, smelly, fat, and make live games unpleasant, because there are eleventy-billion people with underdog-cheering, inferiority-loser-complexes who think they are Cubs fans all over the United States.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

by royhobbs on Oct 1, 2008 11:20 AM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Cubs fans

are just obnoxious type fans and they take over ballparks when their team is playing…and that’s very true in SD.

i don't know, i have a beef with the Yankees

and Doyers. those are my two hated teams.

that being said…

the cubs are also douchy douchefaces.

my only nightmare is a cubs-sawks WS and then the incessant ranting of Joe Buck during each game about curses and other awful things.

he might be the only thing in baseball i hate more than Jeff Kent…

Cubs vs. Socks WS

Joe Buck and Steve McCarver . . .

You know that analogy that when a hungry lion attacks a herd of gazelle, and is so overwhelmed by the gigantic buffet in front of them, it can’t quite focus on any one gazelle, and scrambles around, and miraculously, all the gazelle get away without any casualties?

Yeah, that’s what would happen to Buck and McCarver if the WS ended up being Cubs/Socks.

It's a sign

I just went to this work function, to commemorate the kickoff of the MLB Playoffs on TBS, and they were doing all this cheesy stuff, but I got this box of Cracker Jacks. In honor of Major League Baseball, the “toy” was nothing but a little stat book (one out of 34), and I open it up, and much to the dismay you guys would have, it was the Dodgers edition.

“The Los Angeles Dodgers have won eight of their last nine World Series games played.”

You know what that means, right?
Dodgers are getting swept.

A Curse On Both Their Houses!

But more curses on the Cubs. I wont be cheering for the Doyeurs either. Ick.

If it ended up being a Cubs/White Sox WS, then the White Sox would get absolutely positively NO love from the media. Because this is “the Chubs destiny”-yada, yada, yada.
It’s kinda like the year the Blow Sox finally won. I dont even remember who they beat because it was ALL about the Blow Sox. Blow Sox Nation was incorrigible.

Teh Phiwwis are gonna win the first round then run over whoever survives.

You know

How Cookie Monster is kind of a civil, friendly creature when casually interacted with? That is, until you put a plate of cookies in front of him, which unleashes this animalistic manic fury within him, and he goes absolutely insane; not only does he devour the cookies, he inhales the plate the cookies were on, and usually proceeds to eat the table that the plate that held the cookies was set on to.

Yeah, that’s kind of the same thing with Bill Simmons, and bringing up Manny Ramirez, Pedro Martinez, Curt Schilling, and/or the Boston Red Socks.

Angels deserved to lose

I hate teams trying to be all sneaky and run their way to runs. Man up and play baseball. Hit the freaking ball. Don’t be afraid. Baseball is a simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. You don’t prance around the bases like a bunch of jackasses trying to get thrown out. Stupid Angels. Have fun playing golf.
