Why I love GLB

So yesterday I was feeling a little sensitive.  Call it hormones, call it a hangover, call it this miserable cold that won't let me breath, call it being too nice to evil fans of other teams and too hard on my GLB homeys, but it wasn't fun.  And what did I do with this sensitivity?  I kinda yelled at someone for kinda yelling at me (sensitive people don't read Lewis Black-esque sarcasm real well) and it was kinda lame.  Kinda.

But the best thing happened.  I went away for a little while and when I came back, this crowd had me laughing so hard there were tears rolling down my face.  I was laughing especially hard at myself and a certain typo in a certain lame rant.

The long and the short of it is that I wanted to say a big ole' thank you to all of ya'll for being so great and making this a great place to hang out.

I can't wait for the game day thread tonight.  It's going to be splendiferous!

You're the best
And that was one of the best typos ever. I was thinking about it in the gym last night and started laughing and the dude next to me thought I was laughing at him and wanted to kick my ass. But it was worth it.

Haha yeah
The one word you misplaced was the most essential word in that sentence. Legendary. You had a full head of steam behind you with the first comment you left and everything!

Well done.
Welcome back.

You were so funny
FWIW, while I did not post a response, I had a hard time initially 'getting' Dex's humor too.I mean, I have read his stuff long enough to know logically that it was meant as humor, but at some level I took it the same way you did too and was kinda taken aback by it.

Also FWIW, I do think he has some sort of sympathy pregnancy hormone thing going on with him right now!

At any rate, your unintentional typo sucked the air right out of any icky feelings I may have had on the whole topic and just made me laugh. Which brought me back to where we usually are - giggling and being ridiculous. And that is how you mentally survive the longest season with the most regular season games in a major sport with a team that makes everything hard.

Glad you are feeling better :->

Too bad
I thought Demoira was going to attack Dex. Maybe at the park at the park on Saturday.  I was planning my whole day around it........now I am lost and need a beer.

You make it sound like a bad thing.

Just Kidding.
Gama Hydroxybutyric Acid is a nasty drug that should never be used by anyone or on anyone. Always keep your drinks in sight girls!

so is this diary like make-up sex with GLB?
that's another thing to love. how everyone who posts here ends up breaking up with the site at one point only to come back the next day....sure, you could settle down with some other, more stable blog--a blog that's never going to scream or yell, who gets along with your parents and has a steady job....but then you'll miss those passionate fights, the long drunken nights, the warm, half-crazed embraces in the wee hours of the morning.

This is the Milton Bradley of Padres websites.

True story
Once I broke my laptop over my leg after posting a diary that nobody thought was funny.

That's the funniest thing
I've read in a long time.

Is it just me?
Or does anybody else think tonight's open thread is going to be insane? I'm betting we collapse it tonight.

I better not be in there
by myself like I was for one of the games last weekend. Truly disgraceful.

Hopefully I'll have a lot to be effusive about with Khalil's track record in Colorado.

I'm shocked
it took this long for someone to come up with the comparison.  I kinda felt like I was trying for some makeup sex when I opened the new diary.

Aw!
I'm not even a "part" of GLB- I try to stay out of everyone's way, lurking for the most part, and it made me sad to see that (not the post, nor the comments, but rather the discontent behind the post and replies). I'm just glad everyone's feeling better.

this is totally how we roll here
SOP for GLB.
I've had my frustrations, maybe even a fight or 2. But then I thought about peeing on a certain hall of famer's car tire, and I laughed and immediately felt better.
