Turning Lemons into Lemonade

This weekend will be my first trip to Coors Field. It was originally planned as a business trip, but that got cancelled last minute. After working myself up for the trip, I was totally bummed. I had 3 pairs of tickets that I had to dump and fast.

Star-divide

The missus has this saying, "When you've got a bunch of lemons; make lemonade, or something like that".

So, I went and planned a mini-vacation. Does anyone realize how hard it is to get a hotel room a few days prior to the weekend? All rooms within walking distance of Coors Field were spoken for. I was pretty dang lucky to get a room at the Airport La Quinta Inn. Not really, I just happened to pick up the same rooms that were cancelled previously by our company-travel-planner-lady. Here's to you miss company-travel-planner-lady. I felt like a vulture, an eBay sniper, a cancelled-hotel-room-scooper-upper. VICTORIOUS.

I told Mrs. sqrunt what I had done. After all, she was the inspiration that brought me to log-on to travelocity.com in the first place. I wasn't prepared for what came next.

"YOU WHAT?!", "You went and did WHAT!?" Uh-oh, I just opened up a can of whoop ass. Then, she says, "When do we leave?", "What should I pack?", "I'm so excited!" Ooookaaaaay, turns out I'm not in the dog house this time. I'm sure many of you know that feeling of bewilderment.

So I'm going take the missus to Denver to experience the Padres at Coors Field, since it was her inspiration. Lucky for me, she wants to "experience it" at Coors Field too.

Don't forget-
I have it from a reputable source that LoDo has America's finest heroin!

Well Done
Take her to The Chophouse for dinner.  Great food, walking distance to Coors.

Now to decide which jerseys to bring
My yellow TG BP? Road gray TG circa '98? Blue Hoffy circa '98? BP jersey circa '05? All of them?

Things to do in Denver
El Chapultapec - great mex food and late late nite jazz scene (a block or two from Coors).  Wynkoop Brewry (pool tables upstairs).  Wazee Supper Club - good pizza.  BTW, Oxford Hotel is in Lodo and is funky cool (great 1920's deco bar downstairs for early or late cocktails).

Thanks for the info
We'll definitely have some time to take in LoDo and the ballpark surroundings.
