Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Open Thread, 9/4: Padres vs Diamondbacks

So Jake Peavy is the NL Pitcher of the Month. Personally, I think it should've gone to Aaron Harang.

I think if Jake wins the Cy Young and the Triple Crown, the Padres should retire the number 44 right now. Don't even wait. Don't even let Jake wear it. Make him switch numbers. If he continues on to have a worthy enough career, retire that number too.

GO PADRES!!! EXPERIENCE IT!!!

Today
my art teacher was talking about art, duh. And he said something like "its really crazy but its not like we use a bunch of unicorns and rainbows all the time" And immediately I started laughing because I thought of you guys. So yeah. Just wanted to share that. Apparently, we are crazy for using rainbows and unicorns.

I was aware
that I'm crazy and that I draw unicorns and rainbows but I didn't know that the two were related.

that means
we would have to print up a whole new series of shirts!  and then when hoffman number is retired, a whole nother set!!

Retired Numbers
The first thing I would do as the next number-retiree would be to tell them I wouldn't let them retir my number until they unretired "number 6". To me that is possibly the worst abuse in the history of retired numbers. I'm down for Hoffman though...

Big game
Tonight. Young can't have a start like the one he had on Thursday at PETCO. Still confident that he'll pitch fine and the bats of Gonzalez, Bradley, Giles and Kooz will win us another series.

GO YOUNG!! GO PADRES!!!!!

Harang
If you took Brandon Webb and Brad Penny and somehow made them into one unstoppable force...that creation...would be named Aaron Harang.

by Drama on Sep 4, 2007 7:43 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I seem to remember...
That the last time Doug Davis faced Chris Young, we allowed 7 runs before escaping with a win.

That's part of our problem. We can't win unless it's a 1 run game. Anymore than that and we're screwed.

on sunday, i called him a sweetheart without even thinking about it. i forgot that was his nickname. Guess he really is one.

I have a question for the guys:

Is asking if "you girls party?" a come on? Justin asked us that and my mom thinks he was hitting on us. but I dont think so. hes like 27.

Maybe, maybe not.
I never cared if beautiful young ladies partied unless I had some ulterior motives but then again maybe that's just me. Anyway, do you?

AP

PHOENIX, Arizona - In a joint press conference at Chase Field before tonight's division battle between the San Deigo Padres and the Arizona Diamonbacks, Padres team president Sandy Alderson and GM Kevin Towers announced that Jake Peavy (16-5, 2.10 ERA) will start the remainder of the games on the Padres schedule. "Jake is our best pitcher, so it wouldn't make sense to start any other pitchers," said Alderson to a group of reporters during batting practice.
