No question marks!
We will go and experience! Phillies & D-backs lost, huge potential for us tonite.

by Phantom on Sep 25, 2007 7:22 PM PDT   0 recs

Yes
Potential for disappointment, I agree.

by Winfield's Ghost on Sep 25, 2007 7:22 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

AZ LOST and PHIL LOST!!!!!
Way to start the night. Go Padres! Go Dodgers!
Just because I'm stuck in LA doesn't mean I don't love the Padres.

by gambitace on Sep 25, 2007 7:22 PM PDT   0 recs

im so glad we got that first hit off cain
out of the way.

Just to head off the pessimism....
think of it this way: No matter what, we can be no worse off tonight than we were last night.  That's not something we've been able to say for 4 days.

Me? Personally? I'm experiencing a mother-effing win tonight.  Swinging Friars.

by goose1 on Sep 25, 2007 7:25 PM PDT   0 recs

Dodgers
runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 out. Uh...let go, Dodgers? (It feels so wrong to say that)

DOUBLE PLAY BABY YEEEAH

by Padres fanatic92014 on Sep 25, 2007 7:27 PM PDT   0 recs

It's alright Blummer..
things have been going really well for us. We can afford that!

We're going to snap our bad luck by hitting bottom and coming back up.

by goose1 on Sep 25, 2007 7:27 PM PDT   0 recs

Tomko
This is not the time to challenge Thompson for the Tomsuck title

by CurbEnthusiasm on Sep 25, 2007 7:31 PM PDT   0 recs

Ok
Phils and Dbags lost. But i'm turning the game off at 9 when HOUSE comes on.

by sdsuaztec4 on Sep 25, 2007 7:32 PM PDT   0 recs

by sdgaucho on Sep 25, 2007 7:33 PM PDT   0 recs

nice way to get out of it.
go padres!
- Danny

by Padres fanatic92014 on Sep 25, 2007 7:34 PM PDT   0 recs

Oh phew
And as for the ball to Khalil, I thought error right away, but the ball took a funny hop off the bag.

by Phantom on Sep 25, 2007 7:34 PM PDT   0 recs

How often do you see Khalil do that?
See. It's a curse. And we're only going to get it lifted by turning into the skid...which Blum and Khalil both did this inning.

by goose1 on Sep 25, 2007 7:35 PM PDT   0 recs

New Slogan
Instead of "Mission October" it's "Turn into the Skid."

I'm a firm believer in making things better by making them worse.

by goose1 on Sep 25, 2007 7:36 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Aside from my endless adoration
of him, that ball really did take a funny hop off the bag.

by Phantom on Sep 25, 2007 7:36 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Damnit Khalil
You've got to get going again. You can't K at this point in the season.

by Phantom on Sep 25, 2007 7:37 PM PDT   0 recs

Ugh
Cain is dealing. Not that we wouldn't expect anything else, but he's dealing.

by Phantom on Sep 25, 2007 7:39 PM PDT   0 recs

yah
but you forget our hitters just suck in general. so I mean when we got shut out by Kip Wells, was he dealing or do we just suck?

by sdsuaztec4 on Sep 25, 2007 7:40 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

2 out single!
That's no way to start a rally, you say? Well. In BIZARRO WORLD it is. And that's where we have to play while we're busy being cursed. Up is down. Black is white.

TURN INTO THE SKID, PADRES. WE CAN DO THIS.

by goose1 on Sep 25, 2007 7:40 PM PDT   0 recs

I'm an admitted Cain lover.
I'd love to see him in a Padre uniform.

by Drama on Sep 25, 2007 7:40 PM PDT   0 recs

Don't know how you could hate him
Unless he is dealing against the Padres

by CurbEnthusiasm on Sep 25, 2007 7:43 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

yeah. the padres have a tough time
scoring runs against him. "dealing" is a perfect word.
- Danny

by Padres fanatic92014 on Sep 25, 2007 7:46 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Sad
The Giants broadcast is showing highlights of Bond's  home run #762 while Lewis is batting. (That's sad in a pathetic way, not sad like I'm getting all emotional here)

by Pants on Sep 25, 2007 7:44 PM PDT   0 recs

Holy Shit
the Mets were down 10-3 in the ninth. Now its is 10-9 with a runner on 2nd and only 1 out!

by sdsuaztec4 on Sep 25, 2007 7:47 PM PDT   0 recs

This Umpire
is squeezing us too. WTF!!!!!!!

by sdsuaztec4 on Sep 25, 2007 7:47 PM PDT   0 recs

FUCK YOU DOC

- Danny

by Padres fanatic92014 on Sep 25, 2007 7:49 PM PDT   0 recs

We really are bad luck.
WG was right about us all along.

come on now
you didn't seriously expect tomko to throw a shutout did you? hes gonna give up a few runs, the key is to get our offense going.

by sdsuaztec4 on Sep 25, 2007 7:51 PM PDT   0 recs

Damn you Roberts
Where were the base hits with RISP during the NLDS last year?
Padres for life

by sdgaucho on Sep 25, 2007 7:51 PM PDT   0 recs

I've got Kool Aid
if anybody wants some.

by Winfield's Ghost on Sep 25, 2007 7:54 PM PDT   0 recs

It had to happen
Tomko had been doing WAY too well. This is the pitcher we expected to see from the get go.

why does everything bad always happen at the same time???

Alright
only the 3rd inning...

by ExPadtriate on Sep 25, 2007 7:54 PM PDT   0 recs

yah but
only the padre offense

by sdsuaztec4 on Sep 25, 2007 7:56 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

In Bizarro World
a 4 run inning for your opponent HELPS YOU WIN BALLGAMES.  This is the strategy for the late season Padres.  I'm interested to see how it works out for us...

by goose1 on Sep 25, 2007 7:57 PM PDT   0 recs

Im staying positive
6 games left and the Padres are notorious for coming back late

by padresgirlforlife44 on Sep 25, 2007 7:57 PM PDT   0 recs

I love you
And I mean that in a completely sports-centric way.  But, dear god, SOMEBODY needs to have an uncollapsable amount of faith right now.  You're our only hope.

by goose1 on Sep 25, 2007 7:59 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

god i hate matt cain right now
- Danny

by Padres fanatic92014 on Sep 25, 2007 7:58 PM PDT   0 recs

Bud Black didn't acquire Tomko
Nor did Bud Black teach Matt Cain how to pitch.  I even like him batting Kouz in the 3 spot, because Kouz is the only one hitting...

by goose1 on Sep 25, 2007 8:00 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm not talking about this game
I'm talking about how he is supposed to be the moral leader of a team that is going the complete opposite direction of where it is supposed to be going at the most crucial point in the season. Isn't it his primary job to motivate these guys? If he can't motivate them now, how they hell can he motivate them to do anything??? We aren't playing the Yankees or the Red Sox or the Mets or the D Backs here. We are playing the Rockies, Giants, and Brewers, all of which have very questionable pitching and with the exception of the rockies at home, very questionable hitting as well.

by sdsuaztec4 on Sep 25, 2007 8:03 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

We have questionable hitting
And, aside from Peavy, questionable pitching.

I don't know. I can't get really upset at Black. And I don't really get why we're getting beat....but I don't think it's because our guys don't want it.  You really think Giles, Hairston, Bard, Gonzo, Kouz, Adrian etc. etc. are going out there and just NOT TRYING?  Because I don't.

It's really easy to see why we're behind tonight, and why we lost last night: big innings off shaky pitchers.

by goose1 on Sep 25, 2007 8:08 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Exactly
Our guys don't want it because our motivational leader ISNT DOING HIS JOB.

by sdsuaztec4 on Sep 25, 2007 8:10 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Don't blame this on KT acquiring Tomko.
Buddy has A LOT to answer for if this team doesn't make the playoffs.

by Drama on Sep 25, 2007 8:07 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

"If"
You kill me with that humor of yours.

by Winfield's Ghost on Sep 25, 2007 8:08 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Really
if ANYTHING KT should be commended for getting Tomko. Has he not given us TWO quality start when we needed him most and we have won both games? Is it not true that we are still in THIS game
