Pictorial Diary: What I Did On My Mini Vacation

I originally posted a diary explaining how my trip to Denver came to be in the first place here.

Star-divide

We arrived in Denver on Friday around noontime and proceeded to our hotel. I didn't know that Denver was so flat. I was about to call BS on the whole Rocky Mountains thing. I didn't learn until later that the Rockies were covered in fog.

After a brief stop to unpack and get our Padres gear in order. We headed out to the ballpark. As we approached, I could hear the faint sound of unicorns and cats.

Good to see some things haven't changed since we left home.

The Purple Row marks one mile above sea level. It goes all the way around Coors Field.

If the Rockies can have fountains, I say the Padres build a tank for Shamu under the batters eye.

Instead of fountains, a waterfall and trees; maybe a tank large enough to hold Shamu and his/her friends. I suppose the foilage would be a great place for unicorns to romp.

I did get a chance to meet some of the fellas and at the same time got a few signatures during BP. I asked Miles about his knee and said he was feeling great. He came off the DL on Sunday. Scott Hairston came off the DL on Saturday and says he's ready too. Termel Sledge didn't talk much.

Here's one for the 17yo Girl Possy

Some of the Friar Faithful stuck in Denver.

The Rockies Mascot "Dinger". Knocks small kids over with its tail leaving a path of destruction in its wake. Stupid Dork.

Petco has the hat game where you try to guess which hat the ball is under. Coors has garbage trucks. Garbage trucks? Only thing missing is the flies and stench.

Trevor Time at Coors Field (Saturday Night)

Pepe Negro bragging about Saturday's game.

After the game, Kouz stuck around to sign and converse with family and friends. I asked him if he ever got a chance to go home and vist. He said that he didn't have time and that there'll be plenty of time in the off-season. What a guy.

Ever wonder where dog food comes from?

Even though the Padres didn't take the series, we still had a great time and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Thanks for checking out my pictorial.

I never knew what the Purple Row was
before today.  I always assumed it was the Rocky Mountains or something.  Really nice diary, thanks for the pics.

awesome
love the pics!

isn't the denver airport the coolest airport in all the free world?!

i've only been to denver (actually just drove through it to go to breckenridge), and that was like 4 years ago, but aren't those factory places all lined up next to the highway?

No way
not the coolest airport in the free world.  That airport is going to enslave the world.  Have you seen the scary murals?  Or heard about it being a secret base?  It's the home base for the New World Order.  It's a scary place.

I don't
remember the scary murals, but I do remember their Nestle Quik play place inside the airport, where my friends and I spent hours molesting "Mr. Quiky" and playing Spoons with granola bars.

whoa
scary! i don't remember those at all. but that's just CUH-REEEEPY... i retract my previous statement. sort of. i still like them for mr. quiky. but that's probably just one of their plots to take children in and make them into nazis.

DIA Murals
::SHUDDER::

I thought those murals were weird, but I didn't know why. Now I know. I was so close to being assimilated. Resistance would've been futile.

Are these sites
work friendly? I'm damn curious to check them out.

Yeah
You can just do a google search for "denver airport murals" too.  There are a bunch of sites.
