Smoltz out, young in regardless of vote?

I was reading on MLB.com and saw that Smoltz pulled out of the allstar game because of an injury.  This would most likely mean that even if chris doesnt win this election, he should still be appointed by tony la russa as a replacement for smoltz. i still hope he wins because if he doesnt i wasted a few hours out of my life voting for nothing.

Really.
I know this has been said a thousand times but, CY is 8-3 with a 2.00 ERA. If Jake Peavy and Brad Penny didn't exist, he should be STARTING the All-Star Game. There is no english words to explain this tragedy, so I think you are right, if Smotlzy is gone, CY is in. Also, I think he will win the vote anyway, because I'm sure the rest of the country recognizes his accomplishments as well. We should just take this experience to reaffirm our assumptions that the All Star Game is a stupid, nonsense popularity contest and no creedence whatsoever should be put into it.
VOTE YOUNG!

Zambrano
While I love that CY is a shoe in now no matter what happens, the downside is that Zambrano could get in...hate that guy.

In unrelated news; I ran into a fellow gaslampballer at Starbucks this morning.  How cool is that?  Soon there will be a time when everybody when everybody will know everybody and we can attribute it all to gaslampball.

"You are an Idiot! I-D-O-U-T! Idiot!!"

Still voting for CY
He should have been a lock during the first round of picks....nothing guarantees LaRussa will automatically pick him to replace Smoltz.  I want to make sure CY gets in one way or the other, so I'll be throwing in my votes until the 3pm deadline.

Prophetic!
Roy Oswalt? Huh? I'm glad I didn't stop voting when Smoltz said he'd ask out.

Oswalt to replace Smoltz
"Houston Astros right-hander Roy Oswalt will replace injured Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz on the National League All-Star roster.

Because Smoltz was one of five NL starting pitchers elected through the player ballot, his replacement was the pitcher with the sixth-highest number of votes. Oswalt (7-5, 3.52 ERA) will be making his third All-Star appearance.

Smoltz was scheduled to return to Atlanta on Thursday to meet with Braves doctors about his right shoulder discomfort."

... complete bs.

Well, that's it.
F*ck the All-Star Game. What a joke and an embarrassment. To think this sham determines home field advantage is truly pathetic.
