Giant Gwynn jesery to scale downtown building. Citizens flee in terror.

This is an artists rendition by Y3K Grafix:

If you're downtown today, drop by and get an actual photo of the commemerative gigantic jersey that's going up on the county admin building. How are they getting that thing up there? I'm guessing one of three options.

  1. Have King Kong wear the jersey, scale the building, and staple it to the side of the building using a giant stapler from Skull Island

  2. Have Godzilla wear the jersey, scale the building, and staple it to the side of the building using a giant mutant stapler that was created during a nuclear testing accident.

  3. Have Optimus Prime wear the jersey, scale the building, and staple it to the side of the building using a giant stapler that transforms into a robot from Planet Cybertron.
However they do it, please get photos, because that's gotta be a spectacle.

Off work today
I'll be down there and I'll try to get some great pictures. I for one am hoping for the third option, Optimus Prime was one of my childhood heroes. Before he got those stupid flames, of course.

I work right next to that building.
No camera today (except a cellphone camera) but I will get everybody some pics ASAP. I'll bring my good camera tomorrow for some real photos.

Update:
I am borrowing the camera we have at our studio and heading over at 1:30 to check out the ceremony. Will share the goods afterwards.

Sorry
Got called into a meeting and missed the ceremony. I am going to go later this afternoon. The lighting should be better then anyway.

i was listenin to scott and br
and they had kevin towers on and he said that they are calling up hensley in a reliever role and optioning sledge down and they were planning on this  before cy got hurt which means that they are still looking for a spot starter for cy's next start if he can't go. lastly, he said that he has made several calls to houston and they haven't returned his calls. he said that in regards to a mark loretta question.

Why are we
suddenly enlisting players that like punching people?  (Not that there is anything wrong with that...)

Bummer
I was down there before noon and there was still just a blue tarp over the glorious jersey.  That sucked.

blue tarp
Was the blue tarp gorilla shaped, mutant lizard shaped, or giant robot shaped?

by Dex on Jul 25, 2007 3:07 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Wrong on all accounts
It was Mothra shaped, probably awaiting the jersey-wearing Godzilla to show up so that the battle could get under way.

Pics
My pics from statue night and today. I stuck today's jersey dedication at the end of the album. There's about 100 pictures total. Enjoy.

Hmmmm....
Did Cox and Channel 4 really need to advertise there?

Cox paid for the event...
...and they made sure we knew it. They also handed out crackerjacks and water. It was worth putting up with Weisbarth.
