Game two of the series sees Jake Peavy taking the hill. If you're a Mets fan, I'm going to warn you now that Jake is pretty good at baseball.

GO PADRES!!!

Thank you someone
for finally saying something. I couldnt say anything  cause we lost last time I did.

Dex I love your little intro.

It's good to see some other superstitions.
Me, I can't put on a Padres shirt until the middle of the first. Through trial and error, my brother in law and I discovered that that's how I get the Padres to win- we're undefeated every time I've done it. It has to be either brand new or fresh out of the dryer.

Jake's movement
That slider's ruthless. You'd think the batter could tell that the ball's headed right for his feet and doesn't merit a swing like that.

summertime blues
For me, I have to focus so darn much more at work in July-August that the last thing I want to do is watch the game with my laptop in front of me. So I don't even open it when I come home in the evenings. I have to come over to the PC to read/post. Minimizes my activity. Plus, I am not home as much to watch since I am trying to keep busy until Alex gets home.

I would suppose others are traveling or just feeling lazier than usual ;->

jakes outing
i know that we have been accustomed to jake being lights out and with him giving up three runs we are scratching our heads, and asking what is wrong with him but we need to give him some run support in his last four outings we have only given him 5 runs. i know its asking a lot since we used up most of our runs for the weeks last night by scoring 4 but come on offense but something together

Good thinking...
I have two bets on this series...

One is with a friend over who pays for dinner.  And whilst he is, shall we say, a portly young man who has no problem putting it away...  my main concern is the second bet.

This obnoxious friend will buy me a Hoffman jersey if the pads win but I have to buy him a bonds jersey if we lose.

Please, please San Diego...  I CANNOT be seen dead purchasing such merchandise!!!

You may hear me later, I'll be at the game until I'm kicked out or carried out by paramedics...
