Anybody got any links? Here's what I got...

Maddux has a membership to the Del Mar Country Club as part of his package with the Padres. Chump change? Apparently memberships at the super posh club start off at $160k. And I'm not even sure if that includes green fees. They must serve some really good beer there.

Update [2007-2-9 14:3:10 by Dex]: It's been pointed out to me that the article I linked to involved some scandal that the Del Mar Country Club wasn't involved in. It was also pointed out to me that there's at least one Gaslamp Baller who's dad is a member of Del Mar. The life of a blogger. So close to the good stuff, yet so far away.

New guy in the broadcast booth. Andy Masur has been offered the job. And here I was just getting used to Tim Flannery's slow surfer drawl (which isn't to say that Flan's uneven delivery didn't get better, cause it did). Here's a sample of Masur. Let's all listen and get used to his voice.
Canepa talks about how the Padres aren't stupid. I should hope not. That's a lot of GM brainpower to shout down Moores as he continues his quest to get Ryan Klesko back and signed to a huge deal.

Speaking of GM brainpower, you'll definitely want to be around the Gaslamp Ball next week as we should have something seriously rad going for us next week. I kid you not. I don't want to jinx anything, but it should all be lined up for some solid stuff. This week... slow. Next week we'll start lighting it up again.

not a link but...

... was just alerted that Jerry Coleman had his contract extended through 2009. Three more baseball seasons with the Hall of Famer here with the Padres. And that is just great. Cheers to the Jerry Coleman locker in the Hall of Fame bar and grill, honoring a gentleman and American Hero. Probably a few times in the next three years I'll be in my car listening and trying to figure out what is happening exactly but I can live with it just to have him around.

Relax, all right? Don't try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

...what could be going on next week that has to do with GM brainpower? A gaslampball interview with KT getting published? Wow.
