Carrillo in Spring Training

Anybody know how healthy Cesar Carrillo is coming into spring training?  He's probably the most talented pitcher the club has in the minors right now, and with an injury to David Wells would likely improve the rotation.

What's the prognosis on Cesar lately?  Will the elbow hold up?  I'd love to see this kid in a Padres uniform in 2007.

Carrillo
Carrillo did not have surgery so he should be ready to go for spring training. I think his workload should be light since the Padres and playing a wait-and-see game with his arm. I wouldn't start taking any of the numbers he puts up seriously until at least may, if not June. There is also the possibility that he pulls a Liriano and after electing not to have surgery, he'll need to get it after all.

Cesar Carrillo
Re; Cesar Carrillo, yeah he might need surgery afterall, who knows? I actually took a drive to AZ, couple weeks ago, and being the big fan that I am, actually found out that Padres training is going great. Carrillo is being shipped to Portland to start a few games then possibly going to San Diego early July. One thing that concerns me is Carrillo turning out to be another Matt Bush. These kids are so young and slapped with big $$ they think that partying their lives away is all good. Nevertheless Cesar Carrillo is with out a doubt possibly the best pitcher SD will have in the seasons to come.. He needs to get well and hit Petco up!!!
