I wonder if it was random  Anyone know where the Padres annual awards banquet is at tonight?

Well

As far as I know, the price hasn't changed in at least 3 years.  I took the Mrs in 2004 when she was the girlfriend, and it was the same $200.

Good thing though... if you're into itemizing, you can write it off, minus the FMV (Fair Market Value) of the meal and any gifts you may receive.

<i.e. If you pay $200, and you have steak, you can write off about $170.>
