Mongerer of Rumors

I like MLB Trade Rumors for it's almost salacious handling of Major League Rumors. Others may see salacious behavior and think, I wish he and his rumors would just get a room where they can perform sexual acts on each other in private. Me? I like the voyeurism.

As pointed out in the comments by Phantom, the Padres may be targeting Matt Kemp. As much as I enjoy reading this particular rumor. I'm going to guess that it won't happen. Nice to dream.

Similarly, the idea that the Padres are going to float $17 million for Andruw Jones will not happen either. That's just my guess.

In other news, some of the bloggers at BlogWorld really really dislike MLB Trade Rumors since they'll just float any random rumor out there. Some like the lights off. Some like them on.

Aside from being very difficult on the eyes, I don't see a problem with MLB Trade Rumors. It's a great way to keep track of what people at least think is going on, and there's value in that.

Plus, as you say, it's fun. :-)

Agreed
Most of the rumors that MLBTR posts are drwan directly from "credible" media sources. Although they do post the musings of people from blogs like Viva El Birdos, Brew Crew Ball, and U.S.S. Mariner, Tim does a pretty good job of summarizing the rumblings around the legaue.

Lights on, lights off
I prefer a strob-light.

I would get so distracted
I'd constantly be waving my [hands] back and forth really quickly to witness the "strobe" effect. Never get anything done that way.

Someone
Needs to tell those dimwits over at Blog World that in the very name of the sight it states
"MLB Trade RUMORS" not MLB Trade facts/things that are going to happen for sure. If that's what they're looking for than why not just settle for an ice cold ESPN article.

The speculation is half the fun of the hot-stove season. Those guys do a fantastic job.

if you knew who they were...
I don't think you'd be referring to these particular people as "dimwits" and I did make the distinction that people enjoy speculating as to who may or may not be on their team next year. I think I was the one guy in the group who was like, "You mean, it's not OK to post crazy locker room rumors? uh oh"

Simply an expression
No offense to you or any of the other bloggers out there. I just happen to think the sight is awesome.

Hey!
Hey thanks guys.  Well now I'm curious, who's got it out for me??

Not me. I love the site
I get a new 2008 Padres team every morning from the rumors.  It's much more fun to rotate people through imaginary Padre land then it is to watch people you're stuck with sucking.

So far our outfield this offseason has been graced by Andruw Jones, Milton Bradley, Fukudome, Felix Pie, David DeJesus, Coco Crisp, Aaron Rowand, Matt Kemp, Barry Bonds.  We had Schilling in our rotation. We had David Eckstein at 2nd base. We had Khalil Greene locked up for multiple years or traded away.  Kouz and Headley are gone. And they're here for years to come.  Matt Antonelli is starting at 2B. Unless Iguchi or Matsui or Luis Castillo is.  I would hate like half these moves, but that doesn't mean I don't like reading them.

And it's only the 2nd week of November.
