Anybody who was down at the Charger Rally on Wednesday knows the excitement behind this team. It was crazy. About 25,000 crazed fans showed up to get this city fired up for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Compare that to the 5,000 that showed up to the Padres' Rally Monday. No contest, the Chargers get San Diego (including myself) more fired up than the Pads. Sorry guys.
The Rally felt like a Charger game; it was as loud as a Charger game, people were drunk off their asses and a lot of players were there. Shoot, there were even a ton of people tailgating.
San Diego's very own P.O.D. got the party started. It was seriously like a free concert, they played for over an hour. Lot's of good San Diego songs to get everyone in the spirit before the players came out. Including their Charger's Anthem.
Of the players that showed up two in particular really got the crowd pumped up, Kassim Osgood and Shawn Merriman. I really didn't understand what KO was talking about....something about the west vs. east, the 619, and other jargon. Whatever it was, it was great. I don't even think Lights Out said anything. He just came up and people went crazy. Everybody was screaming. Whatever he was saying wasn't loud enough compared to this crowd.
Bring on the Pats! I can't wait!
