Reasons why the Hoffman blown save isn't a bad thing
- Trevor's going to blow one or two saves in a year. This counts as one of them.
- Padres home record: 23-24. Padres away record: 25-16.
- If the Padres don't make it to the World Series, we seriously don't care if the National League loses it. We're Padres fans, not National League fans. What, like we're gonna care if St. Louis doesn't get homefield advantage? If the Mets don't? The MLB will be thanking us for keeping homefield advantage away from the rat trap that is Shea Stadium.

Brocail ...
Doug Brocail retired all four hitters he faced, striking out three of them, Monday for Single-A Lake Elsinore.
Brocail, who is making his way back from two angioplasties performed in March and April, should claim a spot in the San Diego pen before the end of the month. He's allowed only an unearned run in 4 2/3 innings in the California League. Jul. 11 - 3:23 pm et
