Interview in Maxim with a gambling consultant says a bet on the Padres is one of the best bets in baseball right now.  25-1 to win the WS.  Long shot yes, but they have the potential and the odds are good.

Also, in The Sporting News, they talk about what makes a good dugout (i.e. the diff personality types).  One of them is the jester and they mention Brian Giles as being one of the best (maybe cause he's always naked).  They also say Millar from the Red Sox (now an Oriole) likes to get naked on the field for humor.  Maybe these two should never play together.

One of the best pranks they had in the mag was about an unnamed player that started out the season on a hot streak and got a big head (this wasn't necessarily a Padre).  So someone printed up tshirts with this guy's face on it and they all wore them to batting practice.  The dude calmed down shortly thereafter.

They also make a comment about Klesko's fantasy value.  The sidebar says, "So, you want Klesko now because they brought the fences in 10 feet?  Wait till they bring them in about 50 ft more".

There's also a pic of the Pads in spring training, playing catch with a dog taking a leak in the outfield behind the players.
