Geoff Jenkins?
1/13/07 -- According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, it's possible the Padres will acquire Geoff Jenkins to play left field. The Brewers would eat some of the $7.5 million they still owe Jenkins in order to move him. Still, the Padres don't have a lot to give up in return. This is one trade possibility in which Scott Linebrink's name should not surface.

Jenkins....
"Rival general managers are skeptical of the Padres' claim that they plan to play Terrmel Sledge in left. The Padres are one of the teams interested in Barry Bonds, but ultimately they could sign a lesser free agent or make a trade for someone like the Brewers' Geoff Jenkins."

Jenkins...
His numbers last year . . .
Not overwhelming, but I do like his approach to the game. This guy always busts ass.
I have no idea why many seem higher on Kevin Mench. His number's last year:
AVG .269 | HR 13 | RBI 68 | OBP .313 | SLG .419
And he does not play Gold Glove caliber defense.

Re: Mench
Cruz/Jenkins
.297 .366 .511 .877 (.211 .307 .368 .675)
Jose Cruz Jr last 3 years against left handed pitching (right handed piching):
.291 .392 .493 .885 (.226 .330 .415 .745)
A platoon would give you one vey good player:
.295 .373 .506 .879 (.75 Jenkins and .25 Cruz).
