San Diego Padres Trade Tree

Really Awesome Things has a San Diego Padres Trade Tree, which shows a trackback of the A-Go, Chris Young, Sledge acquisition. It's a little tough to figure out at first, but once you do, it's fascinating to trace back exactly how we got some of the guys that basically make up our solid young core.

Somehow, it's really comforting to know that we were able to extract value from having Keith Moreland on the team for a year.

Interesting you bring up Moreland,
because (via trade) he's linked to Chris Brown, a former Padres third baseman who died this week.

Here's the story

I seem to remember his time here as very stormy.
He didn't have a lot of success, and the usually placid fans of that era let him have it -- loudly.
