Marcus Giles is so close, I can almost smell the hair product

Marcus Giles has bushy eyebrows, right?

Knowing Brian, I would've thought that Marcus would do stuff to keep that in check, i.e. pluck. Heck, what do I know. I guess all I know is that we'll very soon be able to learn all of Marcus' little quirks as his joining the Padres appears somewhat imminent.

The short-term deal will give Marcus a chance to re-establish his value as he tries to rebound from his worst offensive season as a regular. It also gives him the opportunity to return home to San Diego and become major-league teammates with Brian, 35, for the first time.
I know I'm excited, but imagine how psyched the Giles Brothers Resource is right now. I'm talking... PSYCHED.

Being Brian Giles
Brian Giles looks like John Malkovich.

I Have My Doubts....
....  But I'll wait and see.  This will be a test for Marcus Giles.  I am hoping that all he needs is a change in scenery since his numbers have been declining steadily in recent years.  Will he get used to the idea with batting leadoff?  Will his numbers finally improve?  Who knows, maybe this is the type of morale boost that both brothers need to increase their production.  The Padres will probably end up platooning 2nd with the Giles/Walker combo.

When the padres first played in petco many likened the struggles of bats like Phil Nevin and Ryan Klesko to the petco park dimensions. They argued that the ballpark was getting into their head so much that they tried to change their swings to try to adjust to the park. Giles may have changed his style to try to adapt to batting leadoff in my mind. He really seemed uncomfortable having to worry about getting on base and working the count. Batting second would be ideal and it could also allow Mike Cameron to shift to either 5th or leadoff.
Who bats leadoff then?? One of the outfielders. Heres to hoping we trade for a speedy young left fielder
