Balloon Rally Unicorn

If ever there was time for a Rally Unicorn sighting, it might just be now after losing 3 straight games to Houston. Sandi is an artist/magician who made this Balloon Unicorn at Dex's request. It really is amazing watching her build it from lonely little wrinkled balloons.

Right after Dex kissed the Unicorn something magical happened. I think we scored on a sac fly. Cousin Sara refused to kiss the Unicorn and we lost. Thanks a lot Sara!

Is it just me, or does the unicorn's horn get a little more happy after Dex kisses it? It's looking awfully droopy the picture before.

Dex's Wardrobe

Does Dex own another shirt? Or does he own a closet full of of "Bochy for Mayor" shirts, like when Dr. Dre opened his closet in that video and it was nothing but black t-shirts and White Sox caps?

it was a little embarrassing

I got flustered a little when talking to your friends when I realized that I was wearing the exact same outfit that I was wearing when we saw you play. Your friends were probably like, "Look, there's that frumpy guy who writes the blog and wears the same clothes everywhere he goes. Why does David even associate with him?"

For the record,

guys don't wear "outfits". Outfits are reserved for us ladies. Guys wear clothes.

"Outfits" implies accessories like balloon hats shaped to look like unicorns, man-purses (aka "camera bags") and things of that sort.

Actually, I like Dex's get-up. We should all be wearing our Padres and Padres-related gear all of the time.

I can tell you that I once attended a wedding wearing my Padres visor. Of course, it was a Vegas drive-through wedding so I'm sure no one noticed. But I like to think I guaranteed the happy couple a long and satisfying marriage with my Padres karma.

Outfit

Fine I won't call it an "outfit" anymore. I'll just call it my "Padres couture". And let me tell you, the Bochy For Mayor shirt + the Rally Unicorn makes for a fabulous statement.

Kissing picture

I like the expression on the guy's face in the background. The one underlined by the unicorn's horn. He looks so annoyed with me, like, "How dare you kiss a mythical forest creature while the Padres are playing!"

Traveshemockery!

Wagner, who finished behind Hoffman in the voting for the final roster spot, has been added to the All Star team to replace Pedro Martinez' spot. Rollins replaces DL'd Izturis, and that's fine, but man, Trevor just got the royal "up yours" by LaRussa.

And we thought Bochy hated Nady. Trevor must have really effed up LaRussa's dog, or something.

Balloon Animals

take a lot of talent to do. my next door neighbor works at knotts berry farm as a balloon artist. He actually had to go to school to learn how. The only I have learned to make is a weiner dog.

Magical Balloon Powers

The Rally Unicorn Balloon is still in good shape. It's been a full week and it still hasn't really deflated. I saw it last night at Dex's, there are certainly magical powers at work.
