Open Thread,6/2: Padres vs Cubs

The boy wonder, Tim Stauffer goes for us tonight. I hope he has a thick skin as Chicagoans love to show up for the Cubs series in San Diego and I'm thinking they're feeling cocky about their little win streak.

Let's go, Padres!

ESPN baby
but NOT TRUE HD...hmmmm, I really wanted to see some crisp SAN DIEGO SCENERY to make me feel like I'm there, I guess SD doesn't even rate HD cameras.  What the heck does this town do to deserve respect.

Padres in High Def
The Padres broadcast a good number of their games in high def... But you have to be in San Diego to get the signal.

If they're trying to get Nady more at bats
Then what the heck is Ojeda doing starting in right field?

I swear Nady's done something to upset somebody.

26 pitches and counting
Stauffer always seem to struggle in the first innings.

Its really important this time
due to Pads bullpen being asked to come in rather early the last few games.

We'll see what WE CAN do to get into the CUBBIES bullpen.

Phil Nevin got Petcoed
Ojeda out there in left. Seriously, what are they doing? Why is Nady on the blacklist?

I think Ojeda mows Bochy's lawn
BTW, why is it the Karros talks about the Pads having the best home record in Baseball, the Pads having the best record in baseball for the month of March, and that qualifies us as "legitimate contenders"...does anyone out there see something wrong with that statement.

No friggin respect, I feel like the Chargers and the Padres have to be undefeated for anyone to take notice.

6th inning...
Down by 4.

I haven't been paying attention. Is Xavier Nady in the game?

This game was a bore...
I really didn't like this lineup.  Ojeda for Giles???  Doesn't make sense.  Ojeda misplays a ball that leads to Cubs runs.

Pads have a chance to showcase their stuff to the nation on ESPN and we turn out a dud.  The only bright spot was Blummer and you can see he was frustrated at being left on base all night.

I was thinking about All Star voting and thinking heres a chance to see why the Pads are getting snubbed.  Instead, we see why Derek Lee has got a legimate shot at the triple crown.

Hopefully, Eaton can give the Pads some life.

It's true
I'm hoping everybody gets a good night's rest and we take tomorrow night's game. I'll be there in the seats along the third base line. Look for me on the fouls.
